The Statue of Liberty was made by the French people and gifted to the United states. It has nothing to do with slavery
To me it represents the aspiration of and progress toward freedom and opportunity but if you find perfection first please share with the rest of us πΊπΈ
If you went to the museum, you'd know the the original reason was because slave y just ended, as seen with the broken chains on its feet.
A gift meaning freedom of oppression (from another government), that's why it has the independence date engraved on whatever she's holding
