The original color was the same as the model of the face, found at the Statue of Liberty museum, which was used to raise funds for the construction of the statue in various exhibitions. It was a reddish iron color. With exposure to the open air, it suffered oxidation and remained in this shade of green. The copper plates surround the statue, there is an internal structure that contains the copper plates, as this statue was used as a lighthouse in the past, so it has a ladder that gives access to the crown and torch where the lighthouse was. However, the headlamp was removed and replaced with a solid replica. The original torch is in the Statue of Liberty Museum on Liberty Island.
