It all depends on what you are comfortable with and the size of the pet. If you are looking for the 'organization' who takes care of such things, there is none. Your Veterinarian has services which you will pay for. A lot of people think "Oh, the police or SPCA is responsible" they are not. If finances are not there for the Vet and you have a yard you can bury the animal (deep hole), or if you have to, and it is a small pet, wrap many, many times in towels etc and many trash bags and put in trash, sometimes there is nothing else if the money is not available. (Spend the money on the care of the living)

I'm putting this out there for anyone seeking info. The ASPCA accepts deceased pets for cremation. $50. 00 for a group cremation by a private service where your pet is cremated with others and scattered in a memorial park. $100.00 for a separate cremation and your pets ashes will be returned to you. I had two pets cremated.
