I think they are a no-kill shelter.? They are wonderful people abs do their best to find homes for animals. Can you call them?
They don’t put down for space. They only put animals down when they are either too aggressive to be adopted out or if they are very sick and can’t get better.
It was my understanding Fauquier spca trys to avoid that, as much as within their power to do so. If the animal is healthy and most likely an easy fit for most homes I doubt they would needlessly destroy it. Sadly the worlds an imperfect place and those things can happen. Make sure to chip or tattoo (or at least have tags on your pets collars). I would call the spca directly if you have a specific question or concern such as mentioned. Sorry if thats not much help.
I think it depends on how full they are. Usually with kill shelters the ones that have been there the longest are the first to be put down or any that are sick or suffering from neglect/abuse.
