Tickets are only required for the permanent exhibit. Otherwise you can go in with no ticket. Online tickets are $1 & go on sale at 6am. You pretty much have to get on right away at 6 or they will run out. Or they give tickets out at the museum for free at 9:45 daily, but they get snatched up quickly too.

No you have to get on line

When we were there mid-day we had to get tickets to return later that same day. There were lots of students there, so really crowded. They must run out of tickets at some point.

No, but you have to wait to get in

For the permanent exhibition you really need tickets

On line for time specific entry. Walk in to reception desk for a limited number of tickets released for first come. That is a gamble. Very popular museum. Available on line starting at 6am. Easy download to smart phone

You can just walk in and get them whenever.
