Free, online $1 to assure you of entrance as capacity is limited. Members can lock in time in advance. Give yourself time to queue as they send you up in batches. Recommend half a day if you want to get a good bite at the displays and short movies that tell the story. As with most museums there is a lot of walking.

Yes, it is free at the entrance. Keep in mind they have limited capacity. You can secure your spot online for $1 per person and also see how many spots are still available. That will allow you to schedule yyour visit more efficiently

Entrance to the museum is free. Tickets aren't required for entrance or to view a majority of the exhibitions and partake in other activities. The only time tickets are required is from March 1 to August 31. You can get them online the same day, (tickets reserved online before your visit will cost $1), or get same-day tickets which are distributed outside the museum at 9:45 am.
