Recommend half a day if you want to get a good bite at the displays and short movies that tell the story. As with most museums there is a lot of walking.

Entrance to the museum is free. Tickets aren't required for entrance or to view a majority of the exhibitions and partake in other activities. The only time tickets are required is from March 1 to August 31. You can get them online the same day, (tickets reserved online before your visit will cost $1), or get same-day tickets which are distributed outside the museum at 9:45 am.
