I don't work with Lowe's, but I familiar with the impatiens' bug: Downy mildew. It doesn't matter where you plant them, it can still spread through the ground year over year and through the air from nearby plants. So, unless you live on the shoreline where the wind blows inland all the time and have never had an issue with the disease, I would recommend against impatiens. I personally made the switch to marigolds as an easy to grow outdoor annual.
I believe the plants also have have a warranty on them!
