I had an appointment & brought all my documents for the real licence & I was in & out in 15 min! That was even with a picture. I'm still amazed. Carmichael DMV was quick and friendly.
Just plan on a couple hours and make sure to bring all the proper documentation or you're just wasting time.

The DMV site can give you wait times. Often the Roseville location has a shorter wait time.
