You should bring the title if the vehicle registration has been expired over a year. When this happens, the BMV system assumes the vehicle has been sold and the registration and plate number is purged. Sometimes we can find the old information in order to replace the vehicle, but sometimes we need the title in order to get the vehicle back in the BMV system. If there is 2 owners, only one owner needs to be present with their Ohio identification, but they should also know the other owner’s ohio driver’s license number or social security number in case we can not locate the old expired registration information.
Bring your I'd and your license plate number. To be safe you can also bring the cars vin you can find it by looking at the front window by the drivers side or on the sticker on the door.
