Not sure about library card only. You pay what you wish if you show ID or you get free one year membership if hou have NYC ID

The New York, Queens and Brooklyn Library cards are accepted for a pay what you like program. But, as mentioned, if you have the NYC ID, you can have a free one (1) year membership by showing your card and signing up.

Hi Jennie If you do have a member library card at the MET you can come for free for sure, or if you have any proof from your residency in New York as well as New Jersey and Connecticut it's not mandatory to pay the entrance of the MET.
