Having trouble getting insulin for our diabetic / blind rescue dog. Moved here and new vet wants a series of expensive tests before perscribing meds. Where can I get dog insulin?

I have insulin, but is there a difference between human insulin and dog insulin? They are both made from another animal so.. lol let me know
