Inside is a fee or National Park pass. Parking is about $1.25 an hour. So you pay for parking, but seeing the fortress inside is a fee if you dont have a National Park pass.

Correct there is a fee to enter the gates of the fort unless you have a National Park Pass. I don't remember exact cost. Maybe it was $10-13 per adult. Veterans with ID were either reduced or got in free. I don't recall which.
