If you are wanting free parking I suggest that you are expecting a long walk, any locations close to the fort and historical center expect to pay for parking.
The only way to get free parking is if you are handicapped
Tough parking in that area, especially if wanting free. If making a day if visiting, the trolley is a great way to get around. Of course, there is a cost.
The parking right outside the castle is free after 6pm.
Everywhere close is pay to park
Yrolly is the way to go. Parking is very limited at rvery location.
Leave car at hote or wherever you staying use the trolley off and on all day

Most of the parking closest to the Castillo is not free. I have parked on side streets farther away.
