Ive been to the zoo to take pictures before. My camera equipment has been upgraded since. Am I allowed to bring in my camera backpack that I use to hold my equipment while hiking? Some of my lenses are heavy.

Coolers are not allowed but people bring all kinds of bags. There's nothing in the park rules about bags.

I had no problem whatsoever bringing my camera backpack in. They didn't bag check either.
