When u get a # u tell them ur zipcode and then ur number should reflect that. All wasilla palmer #s should be able to call eachother without long distance. I would report the problem right away to find a resolution

All mobile phones have to use the area codes locally or long distant due to the growing trend of cellphone users. Most cellular phone numbers are logged as digital numbers because local area codes are being consumed by cellphones vs landlines.

I live in Wasilla Alaska, I've had the same number for years now. I brought my number over from another carrier, and all of a sudden it long distance for people in my own town to call me.

Couple of reasons. Maybe you ported a number from a different city or state and then moved. Or the person calling you did. Some large metro areas have more than one area code also. Or your carrier requires an area code to connect.
