Good evening what documents do I need for a real ID I haven’t been to the DMV in so long that it probably changes every other year the laws etc.

You can verify this online on DMV website. But, you'll need 2 bills (utilities ideal) that show your name and proof of address. Birth certificate and social security card. Complete online info before you go in: https://www.dmv.ca.gov/portal/dmv/dmv/onlinesvcs
