The passes are worth it if you'll be staying for the day. It makes it worth the money. Sometimes you can find deals on Groupon and they have discount days that they advertise on their website.

Also, if you have small ones that are shorter than 44 in, then they'll be able to golf for free
It depends on what you would consider expensive. I, myself, consider it expensive however some else might not. They sell unlimited day passes with varying prices based on what that pass offers. Prices are from $30 (Just unlimited rides) to $40 (unlimited rides, round of mini golf, and some credit to the arcade). Mini golf alone is $10 a round of 18 holes, however with AAA membership card mini golf is buy one get one free.
