Depending on the time of day, it actually fills up quickly. Later afternoons might be the best... but if you go first thing in the morning; that is always your best chance!

On a warm weekend (Fri-Sun) and holidays pretty fast, at least by noon, weekdays (M-Th) usually are golden. But summer is a hard guess, it's pretty busy all summer. My suggestion, go early no matter what day. At least before eleven.
