I have hiked this area many times but we want to hike and camp one night, Can we do that legally to Sugar loaf or Twin Mountain or Overlook? By not stay at the closed state campsites, can we just pull off the trail and camp. Thank you

Camping is not allowed on the Platte Clove Preserve lands. Camping is allowed on State owned Forest Preserve Properties within the Catskill Park so long as the site is either a designated camping spot/lean-to, or is at least 150' from trail, water, road or parking lot. You can learn more about hiking and camping in the Catskill Park by visiting the Catskills Visitor Center in Mount Tremper (www.catskillsvisitorcenter.org).

They don't allow tent camping, but there are lean-tos that you can use (providing someone else isn't already there).
