Back in the late 1960s was this a museum of natural history? I recall one in St. Joe with a giraffe whose feet were on ground floor and neck went up to 2nd floor thru stairwell. Gift shop downstairs on right. Lion in office.

It may have been, as there are bird displays, as well. But, I don't think so. The only stairwell we saw, wasn't conducive to housing a giraffe. It was more like switchback stairs than having a large empty space. For some reason, I thought the animals were the original owner's hunting trophies. The lady that runs everything, Kathy, (if I remember correctly, which would shock me greatly) is a sweetheart, and probably has forgotten more about that gorgeous place than most people ever knew. She'd know for sure. Anyways, totally worth a visit, imo, we loved it. 🇺🇸

Not sure, but there is a small gift shop/reception area in the first room on the right. Didn't see a giraffe but there was a lion in a large display case in the 2nd floor hallway. Also, a huge bear on the 2nd floor.
