Unfortunately, it is probably the best option. You can try AT&T (DSL service) but it's probably more expensive for no improvement. There around also satellite services like Dish or spectrum, that are possible if you own the residence.

Sounds like there may be an issue with your physical line, such as interference noise. A tech can come out and read the signal on each coax drop and find the best one to use, maybe throw a booster on there as well. My service improved dramatically after someone came out to do this. In many homes, there is one coax drop which is hands-down the best to use.
