We will be in the area on June 17th and I want to bring my boys out to watch the launch(says pad 40). We have never been to one (live in MS). What do I need to know/bring? Should we arrive early? What else to do in the area while we wait? TIA

This exact location is not currently open to the public. We tried to go to this location on April 23rd and police had it blocked off.

The public viewing are shown on maps are uncovered bleachers, parking is off the side of the road. There is also a viewing area on Kennedy Space Center, and lots of interesting space displays there as well.
