Are construction and road conditions as terrible as reported a few months ago? Can taxis get in for drop-offs? Am thinking of taking a flight from LAG but could easily change it to JFK.

Its not that bad.

I never have a problem at LAG, but I arrive before 10 AM. JFK is really far from NYC, so I hate driving so far and it's more expensive to take a taxi from there. So traffic and car travel depends on where you are going. I love LAG so much more than JFK even though the employees are so rude and salty.

LGA is much better now than a few months ago, just plan as usual if you're going at rush hour. I fly out of there twice a month, my guidance would be to stay with LGA. It was absolutely horrible several months ago but that appears to be behind them.

Taxis can get in for drop offs but traffic gets worse as the airport gets busier during the day. Unless getting to JFK takes a lot less time, then you might as well go to LaGuardia
