my ID expired january 3rd 2020 on my birthday and i’m traveling tomorrow to florida can i still use my ID or i have to use my passport ? and will i be able to rent a car ?

You should be able to use your passport. I would check with a travel agent or phone the airline direct just to ensure you good to go.
