No way! Technically, it could work but once you add traffic, airport construction, TSA security-NO WAY.
45 min into city+1 he back+1 hr going thru security leaves you 1hr 15 min...literally enough time to get a beer in a bar. And that's if everything goes smoothly...not worth it. Come back and enjoy NYC some other time. It will be here!
If you say yes, you’re not from New York..period
I would like to know what decision was made! 🍿😂
Don't do it. It would not be worth it.
Yes. As others have noted, you might only have about 30 minutes at Times Square, but that might be worth it to you. Allow 90 minutes to get back through security, *after* you return to the airport.
Depending on the time and the day, but I would agree with Tony, 4 hours might not be enough, considering you have to be at the airport at least 1h before your flight that leaves you with 3h. In my experience taking a shuttle to Manhattan could take you 45mins to 1h, so really that wouldn't leave you with a lot of time
Bro don't do it maybe if you were at the airport in Newark New Jersey ok but your deep in Queens, flushing Queens to be exact that's right beside Citi Field you really are taking a gamble if you do indeed plan on going to Manhattan
To answer several questions... Don't even try Times Square without at least a day. Depending on weather, time of year and day of the week...you will miss your flight. The Hampton Inn by LaGuardia is nice. Time from JFK to LaGuardia = MC^2 × the ° of traffic + parade for random event ÷ the amount of time you have. So...between 40 minutes an 7 hours. (2AM it's <40 minutes...Friday during the summer at 5PM, it could be 7 hours...you never know.)
Don't do it, you could easily miss your flight.
Need at least six hours layover
Absolutely not
wouldn't even try it.
Not really unless you take a helicopter
Hell no.
I am a tourist in ny and believe me it would be very silly to do something like that at the end you need 2 hours to travel times scuare you would lose the flight without a doubt
Goodness no
Uber is around $50 each way, just took it myself, and the ride there took 45 minutes.
Nooo way
Transportation to JFK by subway or bus
This is most unfortunate advice. Lga. M60 to Roosevelt. F train. You are 45 minutes gate to midtown. Budget 60 minutes back, 30 to get to gate. Your bags are either checked through or carry. Will it be tight? It isn't much time. I presume the only type of person who asks the question is one of abundant energy. This message may not be relevant to your travel but it may for future readers.
There's any good hotels by LGA airport???
I would NOT risk it. Construction, train delays, TSA security.... unless it is no problem to miss your plane I would NOT do it. Frequent traveler born and raised New Yorker.
do not take risk on top i see some ppl sayin take uber not worth it at all it will cost you about 75 each way because when it rain or rush hours uber add surg pricing
Thanks so much for the update
Yes, you can just take a cab to Times Square and return back at least with a couple of hours at hand
Please don't do this. Even if it all goes well, you'll barely have a few minutes in Manhattan. And frankly Times Square is just a huge tourist trap that isn't worth the hassle. If there's any kind of delay, you could easily miss your flight. If you want to get out of the airport and experience the real New York, why not visit a deli or bagel shop in one of the neighborhoods in Queens near the airport?
what is the best way to get from LGA to a hotel in Elmont friday around 3:00pm coming in for the Belmont?
If you're a seasoned flyer I'd do it in a New York minute. Especially doing non rush hour. Take a taxi be in Times Square in 30 minutes. Spend 30-45 minutes in the city. Take a taxi back or any train to Queens E F or 7 get off at any major stop in queens then take a taxi. If you are member of clear and TSA pre chk, thats a 15 maximum checkin. You'll be at your gate 30 mins before boarding. 10am-2:30 pm This is without luggage.
How far is this airport from time square
I've been doing Tours from LaGuardia and JFK for the past 30 years. Yes we have a 3 hour tour package. Which will include pick-up at LaGuardia, Times Square, the Interpet Museum, Empire State Building, WTC and Chinatown and the Brooklyn Bridge. PrivateNYCTours.com our garage is one block from LaGuardia Airport.
Negative
Mass transit is a double edged sword. Sometimes its fast sometimes it's not. More recommended if you uber to the city and uber back. Tbh times square is a tourist trap.
No
No way.
