My mom has dimenchai and is very violent she's constantly hitting us,her shrink says he can't do anything,we need to have her committed but don't know how to. Also she shouldn't be driving anymore and won't listen to us.

I believe you need to go through the court system. Look for forms online. Have her primary care Or psychiatrist Dr provide you with her medical diagnosis of dementia or Alzheimer’s share your concerns about her driving to her Drs. Do not let her drive. Take her keys away

Talk to her primary care doctor. You need a diagnosis. I also hope she has a will and someone has durable power of attorney. You need to find a doctor that will make a diagnosis and say she is a danger to herself and others. A medical person needs to document that she needs to be committed. She may not be severe enough to commit against her will.

I am power of attorney,she has a will,her primary care doctor said make appointment for her shrink I did. They both say nothing anyone can do because she refused to leave her house.
