Such a shame to lose the revenue from people camping during the re enactments and throughout the rest of the year.
The park service shifted to a more historical approach and decided to only focus on history rather than recreation. It used to be rivers bridge state park and now is rivers bridge state historic site. It also used to have a swimming pool and stage on the battlefield.
It did not have enough campsite use to justify the cost of maintenance.
