This place is absolutely amazing. No matter what time of the day you want to go for a hike I guarantee you it's going to feel nice and cool because of the ocean really close by. I did a short hike but for those of you who have time to spend because you have nothing better to do this is a great place to go on a hike the whole day. I plan on coming back to this on a different day and I intend to spend a good amount of time in there and I can easily lose myself all day in this place because it is that awesome.

Absolutely beautiful views! This hiking trail is such a great spot to get perfect views of the bay and marsh lands along South Bay Boulevard. Great hike for kids who are experienced hikers. No dogs allowed and minimal shade on warmer days.

I hiked the Quarry Trail to the Cerro Cabrillo, climbing to the base of the Tiki Rock, #3 (I believe) of the 7, 9, 13 or however many sisters there really are. I'm rating the part of the Cerro Cabrillo Area that I hiked. I found it challenging in parts, with steep terrain and some deep ruts. But a lot of it was fairly easy and flat. My hiking boots slipped in the steep slope of the dry gravel, during the final push up to the rock. I used my hands to steady myself. My hiking partner had better boots and no issues. I've heard it gets extremely slippery when wet. The views are beautiful, I'm glad I made the journey. I give 5 stars because I enjoyed it and would do it again. There are two parking lots for the hike. I parked in the one to the north, off South Bay, The Quarry Trail. There were not a lot of people and there were a handful of bikes. Hiked on a Wednesday. Fun trip.

Gorgeous trails for mt. biking, hiking or running with views of Los Osos and the ocean. Would've given it a 5 except for the mosquitos - bring bug spray!

Questions & Answers

Are you aloud to bring your horses here to take a trail ride?

There's a post that says no dogs allowed on trails because their scent they leave behind would disturb wildlife. Horses might be the same issue but to be on the safe side call the state parks headquarters and mention that trail.

Does it have a place to grill?

I didn't see anywhere to grill, during my hike to the Tiki Rock.
