It would depend on the individuals needs. Autism manifests very differently in different people. A person would be assessed and a plan on in place bars in their needs
From my understanding, autism does not exist. It's people that don't understand other people's English that exists!
Our teenage son was diagnosed with HFA and, over the last few years, has received speech therapy (for conversation/social skills) as well as other group socialization therapies and a one-to-one in-home weekly session for practical living skills. All of these therapies are actually paid for by Kaiser based on our coverage, but Alta pointed us in the right direction for getting the assessments done. Alta also pays for our son's medical bracelet and respite care services. Your case worker will work with you in building a treatment plan specific to your child, and will mediate and advocate with whatever agencies you contract with on your behalf if need be.
Agree what Terry Corey says about this, agree!
