You may purchase an annual state park pass for veterans at the Savannas Preserve State Park Education Center, 2541 SE Walton Road, Port St. Lucie, on Thursdays-Mondays, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. The center is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Please bring proof of your time in service, such as a DD-214 or a Veteran's ID Card. All visitors are required to pay a fee upon entering the Savannas Preserve State Park. You may purchase a One Day Pass for $3.00 per vehicle, or you may purchase an annual pass that will cover the price of Admission into most Florida State Parks for one year.

I do not know about the veterans past but it is a nice park if you want to go horseback riding riding bikes on Trails or walking good luck
