There are a lot of points at the range, so you shouldn't have an issue just showing up, still would recommend you call ahead to make sure. Please be aware that you would have to take a short firearms safety course, and your only allowed to rent and fire a .22 cal rifle. If you want to rent and fire handguns, or assorted assault rifles, the nearest state that allows that is Pennsylvania. Unfortunately NYC has some of the most restrictive firearms laws in the USA. http://westsidepistolrange.com/. Go to their site and register to shoot 22 lr rifle. I did this. You can also rent bolt action 38 special, semi auto 9mm, and bolt action 44 special. I do that. You gonna need executive rifle license to do this with Westside rifle and pistol
