When i went in they gave me the workbook for first responders. I did find it rather helpful to be honest. Im not ALWAYS "on duty" now. Just like with anything they will teach you at DH. If you dont use it, it wont work. There are several different techniques they can teach you for combating the PTSD that comes along with being a first responder aswell. When i went in DH was about getting clean and that there is hope and a good life if you stay clean. While the IOP program they offer after your stay at DH is really where you get down to the underlying problems of why soneone turned to drugs in the first place. And about combating those thoughts and feelings and treating the issues. And of course the big key..... STAYING CLEAN. Much love and respect for DH and AAC. This place helped me save my life. I was a methhead for 14 years .... Now i have 2 years and 3 months clean. Its a battle to save our lives. And its well worth it!
Yes, I have. I would encourage you to contact the therapists directly for a face to face or come to our Saturday open house for first responders only every Saturday at 2:45pm Desert Hope.
