Hi Jessie, thank you for sharing your thoughts! Our alumni coordinators foster ongoing relationships with past clients of Desert Hope for continued support and connection. The sponsor-sponsee relationship is one that most patients find valuable in their ongoing recovery. We find your claims of HIPAA violations very concerning! Please reach out to us directly so that we can best address these concerns.
They use the HIPAA laws as a way to cut out a family. Our addict and (mother of our 6 children) was very at her family for pushing her to enter the program. So in turn she cut off her family and entered the program. The first go round she ended up using with ex-patients that she met through the IOP program and dropped out of course without us knowing. The 2nd round we worked with AAC to move her to a location in Florida where the local influences would not be so strong. It's been 110 days and we have not spoken to anyone involved in her treatment We found that she left the program for a sober living facility however the funding for that facility ran out. So at this point after over a hundred days we have no idea where she nor has she spoken to any single one of her children (ages 3 up to 18) No help whatsoever from AAC. The advice we were given was to move on with our lives. We have lost her to the streets of Florida and have zero communication now. It's a tragic situation.
