To answer your question; #1. It's harder for stores to find good employees now. After Covid hit & businesses temporarily closed, people were laid off, government was supplementing peoples unemployment benefits & extending for much longer, unemployed people loved it! Now those same people don't want to return to work, they're looking for more ways the government can provide their income becuz they like not working! That's called lazy freeloaders! Now I'm Not saying ALL unemployed people are lazy, but too many are! #2. I have been in HyVee, Dillons, and WalMart many nights very late when stores were open late, or all night and it was always just me shopping, or me & a couple of other people. It costs stores alot of money to stay open late hours, or all night; paying electricity, employees, etc. for just a hand full of shoppers or less. The majority of Topekans are home watching TV, or already in bed asleep by 9PM, every night! Topekas not exactly a bustling town you know 🤣
It the lack of people to work
They can't find any good help.
It's honestly all about the numbers once stores started to realize that they really were not making a lot of money being open all night long so now with them closing at a certain time everybody's going to rush in to get there before they close and so they're gonna have high sales during that time compared to people saying oh I have all morning to go shopping it may only be that 1 customer and 4 other people in the store at 3 AM compared to you telling everybody they have until 10 or 11 PM to get in the stores and get what they want
I think it's two-fold: covid and lack of employees. Alot of places are like that now, not just grocery stores.
Covid.
Due to covid
