This place is a gem! We appreciate all the changing exhibits and particularly the current exhibit which created the important moment to highlight women of color in STEM, an often underrepresented and unrecognized group. One key to building diversity, equity and inclusion is creating space for teaching about the remarkable efforts: risks, failures and successes, of those often not allowed or included in our history books. These women and their innovations, dedications and contributions deserve to be known. I'm so glad that this museum chooses to be thoughtful, smart and top notch in their exhibits.

We went twice over this last weekend and while we really had a wonderful time, one thing I didn’t love was in the dark/light-play room. Covering the walls and displays are posters of women in science. In the corner is a bookshelf with 99% books about women, mostly black women, in science. The play baby dolls are all black, no white or other races represented. Do I think these things are bad? Absolutely not. They 100% have a place there. My issue is simply that boys are not equally represented, or represented AT ALL. A 50/50 mix of men and women of all different race and ethnicities would be wonderful! But can we not diminish our boys for the sake of uplifting up girls? Can’t we just encourage all children to get into STEM?

It's on their website online. My family pass was $139.
These are their school year hours, they are open more for the summer. You might consider making it a Saturday outing since they are open 10-5
Hi Candaceann, thanks for getting in touch! We set our hours to serve the largest number of visitors, given the costs of running the museum. In the summer and on school's out days, we are open until 5, and we're also thrilled to be open on the third Thursday of every month from 4-7 for free admission nights all through 2019. We hope to see you for another visit, soon, and we'll keep working to expand access to the museum!
$8 or $9 free if kid under 1
Between 3 and 8 yrs old would probably be the most appropriate.
During the school year (Labor Day- Memorial Day) we are open 9-3. In the summer we are open 10-5. Be sure to check our website for announcements about special hours.
Yes. You must buy tickets, though even if you are a member. I think they're around$15 dollars each. It includes breakfast, science activities and a balloon drop. Just be aware they close early!
