Do your driver's license first ,it establishes your residency then do your registration ( tax office) then back to DMV for tag and registration papers!
I know this is an older question but you can in fact save a trip to the DMV. Go to the Auditors office with your out of state license and registration. Get your bill.Next to the Treasurer's office to pay the bill. Then take the receipt to the DMV and do your license and registration at one time. Be prepared though there is a $250 fee along with the registration and title fees. It cost $305 to move a car into SC.
Thank you, very helpful!
