You do need a reservation also the food is not your traditional Mexican it has more of a South American twist to it. Nice ambiance and great service.
I would make a reservation just to be safe. I've gone twice, once walked right in, once it was packed with nothing available
I would recommend getting reservations. Quite possible you will be told no openings at all if you don't. We also found the online reservation system and calling in are problematic, as what it shows available doesn't reflect many empty tables. We found this at San Angel and The Turf Club at Saratoga Springs.
We had made all of our reservations ahead of our trip and was very helpful to be able to plan the day knowing we didn't have to wait for a table...we ate later that day I think around 815pm so the restaurant wasn't to packed but still a long wait without a res..and btw the food was Awesome!
It depends on the crowd level and the rate of table clearing. They try their best to accommodate walk ups, but sometimes there just isn't sufficient capacity.
Most likely no reservation, no seat
Reservations are not required but you will most likely have a long wait to be seated without one.
