They usually dont have same day adoptions. You have to fill out a form that they read over and make sure you have the right home. All members of your household have to meet and approve of the cat. They want to make sure the cat is going to a good, loving forever home and not just be a whim that the family will soon tire of.
The adoption process usually takes 2- 7 days. I know its hard to wait to find out if your application is approved, though they have a very thorough screening process. That is to make sure they are sending the animal out to the right person, family, & home. They do that to protect the safety of the animal, and to make sure that will be that animals forever home, & that of course the animal will not be returned.
