Today we were cuddling the darling kittens at the shelter, and hope to adopt one. But about an hour later my nose and face became very itchy and my eyes became red. I am wondering if I may have an allergy to cat dander. What do you think?

you should consult an allergist and be tested for allergies before considering adopting a kitten or cat

Seeking medical advise from absolute strangers on social media is a rather risky endeavor. You may have an allergy to cats, cat litter, the mold in rhe shelter or even the tuna fish you ate for lunch. Try your primary care physician first.

The best way to find out is wait a few days and then go back play with a kitten and if you have it again take some Benadryl and then you will know that you were allergic
