My dog Toro is scheduled for surgery Thursday but I’m afraid he has a food allergy. Should I bring him for a visit and reschedule his surgery.

In my experience, they are hard to get a hold of by phone, very busy, so If he has a food allergy, then he either just developed symptoms to a new food or he has had it for awhile. If you are sure it is a food allergy or maybe even a flea dermatitis due to a flea allergy (very common also), then I would not cancel the surgery. Just mention your concern to them when you get there. Carol, BS, CVA

I would call them and talk to them about this and see what they say.
