Great place for backpackers to camp. Appalachian Trail runs right next to the campground with parking just up the gravel road. Flush toilets, hot showers and an outside sink for dish or clothes washing. Can order pizza delivery (Rasco, have to go up the road to the closed gate to pick up, closed on Monday) Grubhub for other foods. 6 tent pads with table and fire pit, couple of hammock spots, and lots of grassy areas for tents

So clean! How nice to have running water in the middle of the AT! And we had pizza delivered to us, it was amazing! Definitely needed those trash cans inside for the pizza box. Thank you for this place. We were both so happy to wake up at this campground.

Start at the Old South mountain inn partying lot and follow the trail heading south - it isn't far (1/2 a mile? I forget exactly)

Park in the lot of Old South Mountain Inn. The spots at the edge of the parking lot closest to the campground are there for people using the trail. Of course don't leave a mess or trouble the establishment's customers. We are all responsible for maintaining a positive relationship between the people who use the AT and the people who live and work alongside it
