Hey gene i pretty sure there was no elevator in the building we stayed in it was 3 floors. There was a ramp going jp to the lodge though. But if you are going to see the general sherman and grant trees they are both very accessable
On a scale of 1 to 10 I might give it a 5.5 or a six. The lodge itself is fairly wide open and spacious and the elevators will certainly suit wheelchair-bound guests. There are four floors in the guest room Lodge. There is a rudimentary elevator that would accommodate a wheelchair but it is located towards one end of the hotel building and there are no other amenities that would specially accommodate a disabled person that I saw. The bathroom is not particularly spacious but by law, has to accommodate a person with disabilities. Overall, it shouldn't be too difficult for someone that meets criteria for the Ada to enjoy themselves at Wuksachi. Hope this helps.
The ramps to the outer buildings was bumpy as mentioned in one of the other reviews, but if your room is on that floor, (I think 2) you would be able to get to your room. There is a long distance to get to the outer buildings though.
There is ADA access but I walk with a cane and it was very difficult. I would not recommend it. The place isn't really equipped for handicapped people.
There is an elevator in the main lodge. The guest rooms seem to be handicap accessible.
The Stewart Lodge at Waksachi would be challenging. The path up is gravel, and the ramp is bumpy. Having broken my leg and stuck with crutches for 3 months not that long ago, I see things differently now. I kept saying that I was glad I was fully healed because that walk up would be rough.
Also the second floors of the outside logging rooms have ramps going into the buildings. It's made of 4x4's not the best but it's possible, I saw someone else do it. I would call them because If my memory serves me right I thought there was an elevator.
Thanks elevator is great news
