These people won't return my deposit money. It's been 1 month and they are toying with me. Should I file a police report? Our do I have to retain a lawyer?

I have to take them to court because they refuse to return my money.

I also gave a deposit to hold an apartment they rented it to someone else and now refuse to return my deposit! These people are cooked! Stay away from this place!!!!

If I could give them no stars at all I will. The worest management ever, they steal my security deposit 500$ and want me to pay more 310$ because of their problem. They didn't receive my evacuation email and wanted to charge me a full month pay as penalty. It's been more than a year since I moved and till now I didn't get my money back. I'll sue them definitely. I moved in June 2018 and moved out June 2019
