In some cases, people have to surrender their pet due to financial reasons, medical conditions, moves, etc.
The Anti-Cruelty Society has an open-door policy. They will accept any dog for any reason. Dogs are either sent to a rescue organization or are made available for adoption by the Society itself. ACS is not a no-kill shelter though they only euthanize for health or behavior issues lead the dog to being in adoptable.
