I have a sweet and loving Blue nose pitbull. I'm not able to care for him and give him the attention that he needs because I have a special needs child that need all of my attention.. What are the steps for finding him a safe and loving family?

If you are going to take him to a shelter, then definitely take him to Hinsdale, it's by far the best. You could also try a pit bull rescue suck as Pity Please. When you use a rescue, the dogs stay with a foster family until a permanent home is found. Good luck!

I would seek out a no kill shelter if any. Contact pit bull rescue groups (google local groups) and ask about their surrender policies. Groups like Roverresvue.org or starfish will often do a courtesy posting on their pages where you keep the dog until a home is found. Please PLEASE do not go to a kill shelter. There are many other options!
