Why does it take so long to post a picture of a dog, it's already adopted sometimes before I had a chance to see it.

Very popular adoption center. You've got to be quick and persistent. If you miss the pretty you wanted , keep an open mind, there are lots of animals in need of a good home

We depend on the time/availability of volunteers to take photos of our animals. After our animals come in from a variety of sources, we give them a few days to decompress before evaluating them. Once they have been assessed, vaccinated and are ready for adoption, we call in our photographer. Once photos are taken, they are edited to the correct size for the website. Most photos are posted less than 12 hours from when an animal became available. In some cases, families visit regularly and will make a point to try to be at the shelter when an animal becomes available, so we don't have a chance to photograph or post a photo before it is adopted.
