You can park pretty much anywhere in town. There are a few lots that don't Allow overnight parking though.
There is a campground in Almont and in Gunnison. But you can just park pretty much anywhere around town.
Not sure we have stayed in parking lot off of Emmons Rd near the base of the mountain they allow you to park over night .
