Naw just wind
There are no wolves on the preserve, but there are other animals like coyotes, bobcats, bears, and mountain lions. These animals keep their distance though. The name is from a Native American story that refers to the tall grasses that blow in the wind representing the spirits of the animals that are native to this area, but no longer live here or at least not in abundance (like wolves, grizzly bears, pronghorn, deer, and tule elk).
With the exception of a couple of rogue individuals which temporarily migrated from Oregon, no Wolf populations exist in California. Unfortunately they were extirpated long ago. I worked at the preserve for 11 years and the only large predators I encountered were Mountain lion and Black bear, both of which are very common on portions of the property which are inaccessible to the public and human presence is minimal.
There are no wolves there. I believe that the name refers to how the wind makes the tall grasses move when it blows. However, there are mountain lions and other large predators in the area, so watch children and pets closely.
Lol 😂 no there's no wolves here is just a native name . If ya want to see wolf's ya need to head to up north
Go have to go to the northern corners of the state to even have a remote possibility of encountering a wolf. But you know this alien wolf.
If there are theyve always remained hidden. I've never seen more that a ton of gophers, deer, and lots of interesting birds
No
Once you get there you'll see the signs telling you what animals to look out for.
Don't know, but didn't see any wolves.
I didnt see any
Yup. Witnessed a mountain lion cross our stand in our path then ran while we were in van.
If there are, they are of the two legged variety.
