This is a wonderful place for walking trails BUT please note that many of these reviews posted are for the wildlife center in Portage. You will not see animals here in any capacity other than in the wild. Please call first for hours and any clarification. The people here are great and can provide you with any information you may need

Arrived and was promptly greeted by Diane the volunteer! She was extremely knowledgeable and willing to share all her knowledge! She helped us plan our trip back toward anchorage and wr learned a lot about the area! Great little exhibit set up as well. It was rainy so we did not do the trails. But well worth the stop. Masks required right now but they have some in the entrance for you.

A very nice Visitor Center with many displays and nice walking and ski trails. Volunteers at the VC were very helpful.
