Pretty and isolated, but it’s quite the drive.

It is a nice place to do some hiking at the south end of the San Joaquin valley. Some of the trails are pretty easy hikes with some being a bit steeper. Some wildlife are out and about depending on time of day and weather.

Super pretty reserve! I hiked Tule Elk Trail. It was about 3 miles total and it was a straight up hill hike to the top. I was able to do the whole hike in about an hour but it could easily take 1-3 depending on your physical stamina. There was a small waterfall and plenty of different trails to take! It’s free to enter and is open from 8am - 6pm. I’d recommend visiting!

Fun place come when it's earlier in the day sun's hotter in the evening but pretty empty in the morning just make sure to bring plenty of water bug spray and be careful tons of wildlife

I think you can take little ones there. There are some easy paths that they could handle. Great way to expose them to nature 😀
Yes
At the camp ground, I believe the creek is artificial as when we got there, it wasn't running then after an hour or so the creeks started to run. I couldn't comment on the ponds origination, but it was pretty cool; lots of frogs & toads. We did run into several snakes; mostly young snakes. There's not a lot of shade on the trails so start early, lots of sunblock and big enough hat for protection.
No. Also closed Xmas Eve, New Years Eve, and New Years Day.
Because of some negative experiences with equestrians and a lack of a management plan for equestrian use, horses are not allowed in the preserve at this time.
The only thing is you can't stay inside wind wovles because they close the gates at 6 so if you would stargaze it would have to be outside the gates
The sign before main entrance states "No RVs beyond this point"
It would be a good place as long as you are willing to bring in almost everything needed and as long as the impact of the event is in accord with the mission of the preserve. It's a very bare bones place. There's very little infrastructure. The staff of the Wildlands Conservancy can be reached by phone to answer questions. During the cooler months - especially in the spring it would be a pretty setting for a wedding. I don't think James above is referring to the right location. There are no Parks reps. It's not a public facility under the purview of city or county Parks and Recreation nor is it anywhere near Lake Ming.
No, it's free, you only need to register at the entrance 👍👍👍👍
Camp at the beach.
Im sure you can, but I am not 100% on this so don't quote me lol
Yes, but they have to be on a leash 🙂
We didn't see them. You probably need to hike one of the many trails to find it. There is a huge map of the area at the ranger building.
As of now, I don't believe there are any equine trails on Wind Wolves property.
Nah it's simple self guiding look for mile markers throughout the hikes but honestly it's too hot too hike out there any time after 11am during this time of season
If they are there. There will be someone there to direct you to the best place to find. Be prepare to search.
The water fall is not very big but its close by the bridge under it
Yes, I saw some mother's with jogging stroller a on some trails... But not all trails are stroller friendly.
Definitely
The trail by the river and the camp picnic area is easy to navigate and really fun for kids. First place you come to when you enter the park.
Everything is free, but it's recommend that people donate money to support this noproffit preserve.
Wildflower Loop Trail
Best guess, around the second week in March. We should have some warm days to get the blooming started.
Yeah. I don't know of many days they're closed. I think maybe Christmas and Thanksgiving.
Unfortunately for the moment they do not allow it, but they are considering it for the future.
It's free to the public. Enjoy.
Yes you can, but they do ask that you pick up after them. Waste bags are available at the start of the trails.
Yes. The campsites are moto accessible.
I'm not sure on that. You can give wind wolves a call and find out. I'm sure they will.
I spotted these on my last visit: 2 Tule Elk herds, a coyote and many rabbits. Not to mention several varieties of birds and some reptiles. Bring small binoculars because the Tule Elk are seen at a distance.
Si. Yes.
